Edouard Manet:The Father of Impressionism: with Professor Thomas Germano

Considered the father of Impressionism, Édouard Manet (1832–1883) was a revolutionary artist; his work has become synonymous with modernism.  Coming to The Frick Collection, NYC in Fall, 2019, are three works by Manet, on loan from the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena, California. These three works will be discussed in relation to Manet’s broader body of works and Impressionism.
