Program Description

Description

Sisters Nanette Kaplan Solomon and Iris Kaplan Rosenthal will perform an exciting concert which will include a variety of (mostly) living composers who have combined complex elements of rhythms into lively works.  The program will include George Gershwin's I Got Rhythm Variations, John Corigliano's rousing Gazebo Dances and Sinfonietta, op.49A by Nikolai Kapustin, known as the Russian George Gershwin. The duo has recently been awarded a grant from the prestigious New York Women Composers and will include works by Long Island's own Jane Leslie, Judith Lang Zaimont, Hilary Tann, Victoria Bond, Joelle Wallach and Beth Anderson Harold.
