Howard Keel was discovered by Oscar Hammerstein II during auditions for Carousel, hired on the spot and also assigned as an understudy for Oklahoma! Keel made his musical film debut in Annie Get Your Gun in 1950. He was also in Show Boat, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Kismet. Keel had a late career resurgence on television with Dallas from 1981 to 1991. This talk will feature the music and charisma of one of the best voices in film musicals.
