Description
On the 200th birthday of poet Walt Whitman and the 141st birthday of Isadora Duncan, we celebrate the legacy of these two pivotal artists. Isadora Duncan was greatly influenced by Whitman, calling him her spiritual teacher. We will pay tribute to these two kindred spirits through word, dance and music. Renowned actress and activist Shirley Romaine will deliver poems by Whitman, which will be illustrated by authentic Duncan dances.
Dance Visions, NY, under the direction of Beth Jucovy. Duncan dance pianist Mark Fiedler will play many of these works live, to the music of Chopin, Brahms, Gluck and more.
Two tickets per person are available for Jericho cardholders immediately. Non-residents may pick up two tickets per person beginning March 13th.
