Program Description

Description

Fra Angelico (ca. 1395–1455), a Dominican priest, blended late Gothic style with emerging Renaissance techniques like perspective and natural light, infusing his art with deep spiritual reflection.

Professor Thomas Germano will present a visual lecture on the landmark exhibition Fra Angelico at Palazzo Strozzi and Museo di San Marco in Florence, running from September 25, 2025, to January 26, 2026. The first major show on the artist since 1955, it features restored works and reunited altarpieces, alongside pieces by early Renaissance artists such as Masaccio, Lippi, Ghiberti, and della Robbia.
