Richard Burton was known for his mellifluous baritone voice, formidable Shakespearean stage portrayals and classic film performances. He was equally known for his rakish personality and notorious lifestyle. Burton was one of the most respected actors of his generation, with John Gielgud calling him “a born actor” and Elizabeth Taylor dubbing him “the Frank Sinatra of Shakespeare.” This talk will explore the celebrated actor’s performances and life, from his humble beginning to becoming one of the most renowned actors of his time.
