William Cullen Bryant’s Beloved Cedarmere with Mary McGuire, Artist and Docent

Cedarmere was the Roslyn Harbor retreat of poet William Cullen Bryant. He was one of the most influential citizens of 19th century New York. Bryant was a famed poet, newspaper editor, reformer, advisor to presidents and patron of the arts.  Cedarmere’s natural beauty provided Bryant inspiration for many of his poems.
